January 13, 2008
EKOTREN. After seven years of dedication, the band signed with Blind Prophecy Records in September 2007 and immediately hit the studio with acclaimed producer Paul Trust (Diecast, Endo) to craft their first full-length album, ‘Light the Fire’, available worldwide in early 2008. Steered by melody and driven by metal, the 11-track effort breathes new life into fan favorites like “The Tables Have Turned” and displays brand new tracks in EkoTren’s signature style.
ATOM SMASH TO BEGIN FULL LENGTH
January 7, 2008
Paul Trust his partner label Panacea Records and Working Group Management are taking ATOM SMASH into the studio to start a new full length CD. ATOM SMASH initially began as a collaboration between PAUL TRUST and extremely talented singer/songwriter SERGIO SANCHEZ. “Originally Sergio contacted me to produce his hardcore band. I went to a rehearsal and after hearing Serg sing on a chorus I commented that the band should be doing more material like that. A week later I got a call from Serg to tell me he quit the band because they didn’t want to go that direction.” The two got together and started writing eventually penning approximately 40 ruff ideas that were trimmed down to become the full length. The team then struck gold finding one of the most talented guitarists of possibly this generation. Z who hails from Austria, immediately took all the songs to another level. The final piece of the puzzle was added when at SXSW they showed some material to a friend, DIRK HEMSATH (All American Rejects, Say Anything, Meg and Dia). “I had never worked with a straight-up hard rock band before, but I thought that Sergio was so amazingly talented that I had to be in business with him” said Dirk. Tracking will begin this month with PAUL TRUST on drums, Z on guitar and Trust’s former bass player from Sunday Driver, ARNOLD NESE.
